A view from the other side again. Ramires had begun his forward run from his new right back position deep in Chelsea's half after receiving a square pass from centre back Ivanovic.

A picture from another angle of Ramires chipping the ball over Barcelona goalkeeper Valdes. After beginning his run Ramires had given the ball to Lampard who had then returned it to him as he continued his run.

With the Barcelona defence unable to catch Ramires only goalkeeper Valdes could try and prevent him scoring. With the score now 2-2 on aggregate it was Chelsea heading to the Final as it stood just before half time.

The story of the goal had begun with Barcelona conceding possession after Mikel had managed to get a touch on a pass by Xavi and diverted the ball away from the intended destination towards Meireles. At the time of Mikel's touch the match had just entered stoppage time in the first half and the time on the clock was 45:25.

After Mikel had diverted the ball away from the waiting Barcelona players it was picked up by Meireles. Seeing Lampard arriving in support to his right Meireles chooses to pass to him, although Lampard then becomes pressurised for possession and Barcelona almost win back the ball. It runs loose and eventually falls to Mikel.

Barcelona almost manage to win back the ball, but it runs loose and is picked up by Mikel and Chelsea therefore retain possession. Mikel chooses to pass behind him to Ivanovich. The clock is now showing 45:31.

After Ivanovich receives the ball from Mikel he plays it out right to Ramires, now operating as right back for Chelsea in place of Ivanovich himself, after Ivanovich had moved inside to replace the sent off Terry at centre back. Ivanovich's pass is timed at 45:33 and finds Ramires on the flank with some space to move forward.

When Ramires received the ball from Ivanovic he was in space and began a run forward. He had 2 Chelsea players available in support, Mata on the flank to his right and Lampard in the centre circle to his left.

As Ramires moves forward he can see that Puyol is covering Mata to his right, but Lampard to his left appears to be in a free position. Ramires decides to pass to Lampard and continues his own run forward.

Lampard is challenged by Barcelona players but does very well to shield the ball from them and then plays a return pass to Ramires. Although about 10 yards behind Lampard when he had passed to him, Ramires was now about 10 yards ahead of Lampard to receive the return pass. Ramires had made about 20 yards in about 3 seconds.
